Semantic metrics and dimensions
Formula, grain, date, units, and valid slices for every analytics metric.
Metric contract
- Stable code, clear label, and business purpose.
- Source, formula version, and recognition date.
- Data grain such as product / day / account.
- Unit, currency, rounding, and permitted dimensions.
- Freshness, completeness, and source-row lineage.
Core formulas
The metric detail view is authoritative and the exact composition depends on available sources. These formulas describe the baseline logic rather than a statutory accounting standard.
- Recognized revenue = recognized sales − recognized returns and corrections.
- Profit = revenue + compensation − cost of goods − commissions − logistics − storage − advertising − tax and other included expenses.
- Profit per unit = profit / completed units when the denominator is greater than zero.
- Profit margin = profit / revenue × 100% when revenue is non-zero.
- Cost ROI = profit / cost of goods × 100% only when cost is present and that formula is selected in the report.
Comparability
Two values are comparable only when formula, version, recognition period, timezone, filters, currency, and data state match. A similar label does not guarantee the same meaning.
Zero and missing values
- Zero is a calculated zero value.
- No data means a source or required component is missing.
- A preliminary value can change after a return, deduction, or report close.
